He is best known for his work with John Zorn’s Naked City. He now lives in Seattle, Washington, where he is an adjunct professor of composition at Cornish College of the Arts as well as performing with numerous projects.

He has been the leader of such groups as The President, Pigpen, Zony Mash and the Four Plus One Ensemble. Artists he has recorded with include John Zorn, Bill Frisell, Elliott Sharp and Danny Barnes. As a record producer, he has worked with the World Saxophone Quartet, Human Feel, Marty Ehrlich and Fontella Bass.

He has also composed for theater and dance, creating music for the 1998 production of Death of a Salesman for the ACT theater in Seattle.
