Mountain Home, Idaho-born Victor Wooten is a bassist, songwriter and record producer, who plays in the genres of jazz fusion, jazz-funk, bluegrass, pop and Progressive Metal. To say that he began his musicianship very early in life is not an exaggeration as he started learning to play music at the age of two. He started performing in nightclubs and theaters as the bassist with the family band at age five, and at age six was on tour with his brothers, opening shows for legendary soul artist Curtis Mayfield. Even before graduating high school, he and his brothers had shared the stage with artists such as Stephanie Mills, War, Ramsey Lewis and The Temptations.

Victor Wooten is a multiple Grammy Award winner, who became well known worldwide in 1990 as a founding member of the band Bela Fleck and the Flecktones. Wooten is most often seen playing Fodera basses, of which he has a signature model. His most famous Fodera is a 1983 Monarch Deluxe he refers to as "number 1." His Fodera's "Yin Yang" basses, which were co-designed by and created for Wooten, integrates the Yin Yang symbol as a focal point of the guitar’s design and construction.

As well as playing bass guitar, both fretted and fretless, and the double bass, he also played the cello in high school, which he plays periodically with the Flecktones.
