The alternative country band the Vandoliers was formed in 2015 in the Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas area by Joshua “Fireball” Fleming, the lead vocalist and guitarist of the group after his previous band, the punk genre trio The Phuss, had broken up.

Fleming was recovering from an eye infection that had plagued him for two months and watched the television show The Marty Stuart Show, which featured country acts and noticed the similarities of country music to punk. After watching the show, he wrote most of the material for the Vandoliers’ debut album. He would then go on to form a group with local musicians from the Dallas Fort Worth area, with the aid of local producer John Pedigo.

Enjoy alternative country music with Vandoliers tickets. The band’s debut album, entitled Ameri-Kinda, was released in 2016 through State Fair Records. Their follow-up album, The Native, was released in 2017 and was recorded where country legend Willie Nelson recorded his iconic album Red Headed Stranger.

The Native is regarded as the tipping point that brought back the popularity of cowpunk. The group has toured with acts such as Reverend Horton Heat and Old 97’s. Along with Fleming, the band is comprised of multi-instrumentalist Cory “Round Up” Graves, electric and steel guitarist Dustin “Midnight” Fleming, drummer Trey “After-Party” Alfaro and fiddler Travis “McFiddlesticks” Curry along with bassist Mark “Crossroads” Moncrieff.
