He has received six Grammy Awards, the Brit Award (1994) for Outstanding Contribution to Music, the Americana Music Lifetime Achievement Award for Songwriting.

Van Morrison was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Songwriters Hall of Fame and was knighted for his service to the music industry and tourism in Northern Ireland in 2016. In March 2019 Morrison was honored by Michael Dorf at the annual charity concert at Carnegie Hall where twenty musical acts played the music of Van Morrison. Van Morrison performs at concerts on tour as well as other music festivals and events.
