The group debuted its first album, Mostasteless, in 1998. However, it wasn't until the band released Mirror Mirror in 2002 that they secured chart positions. Mirror Mirror was an instant hit that peaked at No. 5 on the Billboard Top Independent Albums and No. 103 on the Billboard 200 charts.

2003 was a big year for Twiztid. Their critically acclaimed album, The Green Brook, peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard Top Independent Albums and No. 52 on the Billboard 200 charts. Additionally, the band created the annual Fright Fest, a highly anticipated Halloween event that featured performances from Twiztid and other famous artists.

Demand for Twiztid tickets exploded in the early and mid-2000s with the band's continued success and charting albums, including Man's Myth (Vol. 1), Mutant (Vol. 2), W.I.C.K.E.D. and Heartbroken & Homicidal.

In 2018, Twiztid created and hosted Astronomicon, a convention focused on musical arts, horror films, comic books, and video games. The event was an instant success and featured horror icons like Tony Moran, Kane Hodder, and Bill Moseley. The event was so successful that it became an annual event in the years that followed.

Twiztid changed directions in 2021 and began to combine the music they had become known for with the rock genre. They released Unlikely Prescription, which peaked on multiple charts, including No. 14 for the Billboard Top Current Album Sales and No. 20 on the Billboard Top Hard Rock Albums charts.
