Enjoy classic cowboy excitement with Tucson Rodeo tickets. The Tucson Rodeo is the cornerstone of La Fiesta de Los Vaqueros, a time-honored tradition since its inception in 1925 when Tucson was a frontier town. The Tucson Rodeo is considered one of the top 25 professional rodeos in North America.
It consists of contestants from the United States and Canada and is the first major outdoor event on the PRCA (Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association) schedule. The Tucson Rodeo gives visitors a chance to view real-life cowboys and cowgirls display their ability in the only sport in the world developed from work skills.
The Tucson Rodeo features seven professional rodeo events. Six of the events, bareback riding, steer wrestling, saddle bronc riding, tie-down roping, team roping and bull riding are sanctioned by the PRCA, while women’s barrel racing is sanctioned by the WPRA (Women’s Professional Rodeo Association). The original concept of a rodeo competition was to showcase the work cowboys do, including roping calves and breaking broncs into saddle horses.
Bull riding as an event, however, was created to present the daring and impulsive nature of the cowboy by intentionally climbing on the back of a 2,000-pound wildly bucking bull. Get your Tucson Rodeo tickets today for a great time out for the whole family.
