Though they began as a humble busking band, Tuba Skinny has since performed at premier music festivals across the world and released a number of albums, all to rave reviews by critics. Their intimate and animated street performances have garnered them a dedicated following on YouTube, and despite their success, the band continues to perform in the streets of New Orleans. The current lineup consists of Erika Lewis, Robin Rapuzzi, Jason Lawrence, Max Bien-Kahn, Gregory Sherman, Craig Flory, Todd Burdick, Barnabus Jones and Shaye Cohn. 

The current lineup came together in 2009 after some time playing in New Orleans’ French Quarter, taking their name from a comment made by a random onlooker. They developed a reputation for playing an oft-unheard style of music called “hot jazz” and faithfully recreating 1920s tunes from historical groups like Louis Armstrong’s Hot 5, The Mississippi Sheiks and The Memphis Jug Band. Tuba Skinny’s runaway popularity in New Orleans and online has since seen them tour widely at festivals, taverns and even circuses.
