Before their own success, they were opening for bands like Barenaked Ladies and Counting Crows. They reached popularity with hits like “Meet Virginia” in 1998 and “Drops of Jupiter (Tell Me)” in 2001. Following a brief hiatus from 2006 to 2008, Train returned with the release of their album “Save Me, San Francisco.” One of the singles, “Hey, Soul Sister” became an RIAA 6x Platinum-certified international hit. They won the Grammy for Best Rock Song for “Drops of Jupiter (Tell Me)” in 2002. They also won the Grammy for Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals in 2011 for “Hey, Soul Sister” (live). The single “Calling All Angels” was used by the Los Angeles Angels as an unofficial anthem. It was played during the 2010 season at each home game.
