The French vocal quartet Tocadeo was formed in Quebec in 2008 by four friends who met while performing musical theatre, including Renee Lajoie, Dany Laliberte, Benoit Miron and Patrick Olafson. The group was formed with the aim of performing at events such as corporate parties but caught the ear of producer Serge Pare, who offered them a recording contract.
Their debut album, the self-titled Tacadeo, was released in 2010, with original songs penned by songwriters such as Frederick Baron, Marc Dupre, Jean-Francois Breau and Sandrine Roy, along with covers of classics by such musical stars as Francine Raymond, Daniel Lavoie, Jacques Brel and Eddy Marnay.
Hear an amazing performance with Tocadeo tickets. Their follow-up album in 2012, Au nom des hommes, had the music directed by Romano Musumarra with vocal arranging done by Marc-Andre Cuierrier. Original works by Tino Izzo, Mario Pelchat, Christian Marc Gendron and Musumarra made their way on the album as well as covers of songs by artists such as Luc Plamondon, Roger Tabra, Jean-Pierre Ferland and Mario Pelchat
Among the other albums that the group has released was a Christmas album in 2013 with 12 classics and one new original song included. The group has put out a new album almost every year, continuing their tradition of including both covers of famous songs and original pieces.
