Under his pseudonym, he offers two albums rich in genre fusion, The Golden Age of Apocalypse (2011) and Apocalypse (2013). His appearance on the track “These Walls”, taken from Kendrick Lamar's flagship work, To Pimp a Butterfly (2015), earned him a Grammy Award. The same year released his mini-album The Beyond / Where the Giants Roams, followed in 2017 by the album Drunk, in which Michael McDonald and Kenny Loggins, Kendrick Lamar, Pharrell Williams and Wiz Khalifa collaborated. The following year, he began recording his fourth album and welcomed guitarist Steve Lacy, drummer Steve Arrington, Childish Gambino and rappers Ty Dolla Sign and Lil B. to his sessions. Produced by Steven Ellison alias Flying Lotus, the melancholy It Is What It Is (2020).
