'Amputechture' (2006) peaked at number five on Billboard's Top Rock Albums Chart. 'The Bedlam in Goliath' (2008) topped the Alternative Albums, Hard Rock Albums and Top Rock Albums charts and went to number three on the 200. The track 'Wax Simulacra' won the 2008 Grammy Award for Best Hard Rock Performance, the album 'Octrahedron' (2009) went to number three on the Alternative Chart and number four on the Top Rock Chart and they toured internationally with their final album, 'Noctourniquet' (2012), reaching number six on the Alternative Chart and number seven on the Top Rock Chart.
Band members went their separate ways in 2013 but rumours of a return continued to surface.
