The Longest Johns quickly developed an enthusiastic following, and by 2015 were performing at prominent events like the Falmouth International Sea Shanty Festival.

In 2018 The Longest Johns released their sophomore album Between Wind & Water, which contained the viral hit “Wellerman.” Following the song’s explosion in online popularity, The Longest Johns signed to Decca Records in 2021.
