Their second album, Heavy Mental, came out in 1981 and hit No. 50 on Billboard’s Hot 100 list. The Fools became the opener for Van Halen and went back on the road. Their next album, the successful World Dance Party, was released in 1985. It contained the single “Doo Wah Diddy,” which was popular on MTV. Despite some turnover in the band’s lineup, they returned to full-time touring in 2003.
