Prior to their formation in 2017, all three members had belonged to other bands. After the disbandment of their former groups, Butler, Harrison and Improta came together to form their own hip-hop-inspired punk rock ensemble. When choosing a name, they added 333 to represent the three core principles that they stand for: community, charity and change. Their first performance was an impromptu show in the parking lot of Randy’s Donuts in Inglewood, California. About a month later, they released their debut single “We’re Coming In.” They have a close relationship with former Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker. He appeared on their second single, “Hunting Season,” and has made appearances at their concerts. In 2018, the band released their EP, Made an America, with Roadrunner Records. As political activists, the group tackled many social and political themes with their lyrics. They took on racism in their remix of “Made an America” with Barker and rapper Vic Mensa. The song was nominated for a Grammy for Best Rock Performance. They released their debut album, called Strength in Numb333rs in 2019. Their first single from the album, “Burn It,” won a Kerrang! Award for Best Song. On June 3, 2020, they released Long Live the Innocent, a musical performance in which all proceeds were donated to the Minnesota Freedom Fund. They debuted “Supremacy,” a previously unreleased song, during the performance.
