The Bridge was created in Baltimore in 2001 when the members came together with a vision of forming a blues-rock band that offers interactive live performances in the vein of The Grateful Dead. They quickly amassed a dedicated following in and around the Washington D.C. area and earned several regional awards. In 2005 The Bridge received the Baltimore City Paper’s awards for Best Band and Best Album, going on to give a celebrated performance on the Jam Cruise 6 tour. 

The Bridge employs an eclectic variety of instruments to create their signature sound, including the mandolin, saxophone and keyboards. Their reputation in Baltimore saw them featured on the hit television show The Wire, which is set in the city.
