The B-52s Concert Tickets

Order your B-52s tickets today to see “The World’s Greatest Party Band” live in concert. The B-52s is a dance-rock band that started in 1976 in Athens, Georgia. The original members included Fred Schneider, Kate Pierson, Keith Strickland, Cindy Wilson and Ricky Wilson. The origin of the name “the B-52s” comes from the Southern slang for bouffant-like hairdos. This perfectly encapsulates the band’s thrift shop and rock and roll aesthetic.

The emergence of the B-52s in the late ‘70s and early ‘80s tapped into a growing population of people that were on the outside of mainstream music. The B-52s stream of consciousness songwriting as well as their eccentric, alternative sound appealed to this population. They soon became regulars on MTV and staples on alternative radio stations.

The B-52s’ two biggest hits, “Love Shack” and “Rock Lobster” showcase their new wave sound. “Love Shack” debuted on their 1989 album “Cosmic Thing” which is the B-52s greatest commercial achievement and propelled them into international stardom. That distinctive sound has been carried through to their most recent album “Funplex,” released in 2008. You’ll be able to hear all the classic hits live with your B-52s tickets from TicketSmarter.
