Formed in 2012, Temples is an alternative rock band that was initially created as a home studio project by James Bagshaw and Tom Warmsley. After self-producing four hit tracks to YouTube, they were picked up by Heavenly Recordings and released their debut single, "Shelter Song," in late 2012. Their second single, "Colours of Life," was released the following year.
Temples began to gain popularity over the next two years as they performed and headlined at several major European and UK festivals. In addition, they garnished support from other notable bands, including Mystery Jets, Kasabian, The Vaccines and Suede.
Temples tickets received higher demand after the release of their debut album, Sun Structures, in 2014. The album received high praise from fans and critics alike and made the UK No. 7 spot. After the album's release, they began touring around Europe, Australia, and the United States. They performed their hit single "Shelter Song" on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and the Ellen Degeneres Show.
In 2017, Temples released Volcano, which swiftly reached the UK No. 23 spot. Shortly after, one of the original creators, Tom Warmsley, departed to join Fat White Family. However, temples continued to release several more hit singles, including "Strange or Be Forgotten," "You're Either On Something" and "Paraphernalia." Their third alum, Hot Motion, was released in 2019, reaching the UK No. 51 spot.
