In 2014, she recorded a cover of Beyonce’s “No Angel”. She was also a guest artist on the track "Holiest" by Glass Animals, an English indie rock band. Tei Shi’s early singles, including “M&Ms” and “Nevermind the End,” won acclaim from music media outlets like Noisey and Fader.
Her debut full-length album, Crawl Space, was released in 2017. The title of the album got its name from a crawl space she employed while as a child to face her fear of the dark. She is known for making whispery, slow and sensual bedroom pop. Tei Shi was set to perform as the opening act for Blood Orange's 2020 North American tour, however, the tour was canceled after only two shows due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition to solo concert performances, Tei Shi has appeared at festivals such as Hopscotch Music Fest, Festival d'été de Québec and Coachella.
