Later albums 'Head Music' (1999) and 'A New Morning' (2002) divided fans and critics and the band split in 2004. In 2010 they played a one-off concert at London's Royal Albert Hall in aid of the Teenage Cancer Trust. They did a few more shows including the Skanderborg Festival in Denmark and then announced a greatest hits album, 'The Best of Suede' released in November of that year.

They continued on the festival circuit with no news of any reunion until 2013 when they revealed the title of their sixth studio album to be 'Bloodsports'. They announced a European tour for the end of the year with their seventh album, 'Night Thoughts', in the works which would be released in 2016.
