The group’s first album was titled Sexton Blake and released before formally calling themselves STRFKR along with a second album named Plays The Hits!, which was an almost overnight success. The band’s title was originally an inside joke by known fan Sam Norris, who helped to spread the band’s popularity outside of Oregon. STRFKR would soon find national acclaim after their music was featured in a Target commercial, with their first major tour coming shortly after in 2010.
