The 400-mile race is held in September and takes place at night under the lights in order to provide comfort and protect fans and drivers from the Vegas heat. The race takes place over 267 grueling laps with stage breaks cautions taking place at lap 80 and lap 160. The race has been known to go into overtime over the past several years, which could lead to more laps being added on to the end of the race.
