The team played in the NCAA Division Tournament again in 1995 under the new conference, advancing to the second round. Coach Tom Mendoza took the helm in January 2018 and led South Carolina to the NCAA Tournament in each of his first two seasons. In 2021, he became the fastest Gamecocks coach to record 50 victories.
