Born in 1975 in Travnik, Solomun fell in love with music listening to tapes his cousin would bring him of nightclub DJs. At sixteen the young artist began playing at the House of Youth, and by the time he was a young man had begun producing his own songs. In 2005 Solomun founded his own record label, Diynamic, through which he released his eponymous EP the following year. By 2009 he had released his debut full-length album, Dance Baby.

Solomun rose to fame in the early 2010s, when he received Resident Advisor’s Remix of the Year Award, Mixmag’s DJ of the Year Award and was named Producer of the Year at Ibiza’s DJ Awards. The artist became known for his signature sound that makes use of deep basslines, soaring melodies and emotional vocalizations. He often incorporates elements from hip-hop, soul and funk music into his songs. Solomun has appeared at a slew of prominent events including Tomorrowland, Ultra Europe and the Exit Festival.
