They formed the Social Club Misfits in Miami in 2011, spending a number of years refining their signature sound that blends contemporary rap elements with religious imagery. By 2016 they had been signed to the Capitol Christian Music Group.
The Social Club Misfits attracted their first serious attention with their sophomore EP Rejects, a top ten hit on the Billboard Gospel Albums chart. They cemented their place as one of the leading artists in Christian hip hop, however, with their 2014 release Misfits 2. Misfits 2 reached the top of the Billboard 200, charting on the Gospel, Independent and Rap Albums charts as well. In 2020 the duo won the Dove Award for Rap/Hip Hop Album of the Year.
