Formed in 1991, this band has shared the stage with some of the biggest rock names, including Atreyu, Bad Religion, BoySetsFire, Deftones and Finch. The band released its first EP, Snapcase, in 1991, and its success helped them secure a record deal with Victory Records.
Snapcase experienced significant changes to its lineup in the early 1990s, including multiple singers and the band’s drummer. In 1993, the band released its first studio album, Lookingglasself. While the album did well and garnished the band thousands of fans, it wasn’t until the band’s 1997 album, Progression Through Unlearning, that they gained national attention. The album was called revolutionary by hardcore rock fans, and the attention the album drew helped Snapcase land a spot in the Vans Warped Tour. One of the album’s hit singles, “Breaking and Reaching,” was featured on Cartoon Network’s Toonami’s Mobile Fighter G Gundam in 2002.
Snapcase tickets became available internationally for the first time in 2000 as the band took on a lengthy tour in Europe to support its album, Designs for Automotion. The group released two more albums in the early 2000s, End Transmission and Bright Flashes, before going on hiatus in 2005. Snapcase reunited in 2010, and while the band did not release another album between 2010 and 2021, they toured extensively worldwide.
