The American hardcore, New York-based punk band, Show Me the Body (SMTB), was formed in 2009 but did not start releasing music until 2014, influenced by noise music, sludge metal and hip-hop. The band members consist of a trio with two original members, including Julian Cashwan-Pratt and Harlan Steed. The drummer of the band has changed several times and has included Gabriel Millman and Noah Cohen-Corbett with Jackie Jackieboy joining the band in early 2021. The band has had the pleasure of collaborating with other notable artists, such as Denzel Curry, Dreamcrusher and Princess Nokia. Following the release of their Dog Whistle album, a 2019 issue of NME Magazine referred to them as “the world’s most terrifying live band”.

This EP caught the attention of Loma Vista Recordings, who would help the band release their 2015 self-titled EP, S.M.T.B. In 2016, the band signed with Loma Vista Recordings and released their debut album Body War, as well as completing a US and European tour. This debut album included experimental sounds that touched on relevant social issues of police brutality, anti-capitalism and gentrification.
After returning from a tour in 2017, they began recordings for a collaborative project with other artists and friends on the Corpus 1 mixtape and the two-track EP, Challenge Coin. During their 2018-2019 European tour, the band visited an Auschwitz-Birkenau memorial museum, which influenced their second album, Dog Whistle. Around the time Jackie Jackieboy was joining the band they released their fourth EP, Survive in 2021.
