She grew up listening to the music of Anita Baker, Bonnie Raitt, Stevie Nicks and others. Her two biggest influences are Patsy Cline and Elvis. Ruffin began to sing in the church choir as well as with competitive ensembles.
Ruffin moved to Nashville to pursue music. Her first gigs were singing backup in an R&B act before connecting with a Memphis songwriter, doing the writer’s songs. She then began to perform her own shows, being featured on the radio on Nashville station WSM. She also has been featured on television, appearing on the Fox 17 Morning Show. She has headlined venues such as The Blue Bird Café, Ryman Auditorium, Nissan Stadium and others.
