Seckond Chaynce is a country-rap star with a born-again soul. Trevor Thomas was born in Jacksonville, Fla. He, and his two siblings were raised by a single mother in a neighborhood rife with violence and drugs. While Thomas showed an interest and aptitude for music at an early age, the allure of fast money from dealing drugs, as promoted by close family members, drew him away. By ninth grade, Thomas dropped out of school to pursue a life of crime instead of his passion for music. Chaynce is a hip-hop artist first but has heavy influences of country music, especially southern style country, and writes primarily about Christian themes.
