He’s worked with and remixed songs for artists like Daft Punk, Beastie Boys, and Frank Ocean. He was born Sebastien Akchote-Bozovic in 1981 in the French town of Boulogne-Billancourt and was raised by a single mother in Paris. He was heavily influenced by his guitarist brother Noel Akchote and began producing music during his teenage years.
SebastiAn managed to get a hold of the owner of Ed Banger Records by randomly calling the label and was subsequently signed to the label with his band in 2005. They released EP’s like H.A.L., Smoking Kills (?) and Ross Ross Ross. In 2008, he released Motor and Remixes. He released his debut album Total in 2011, which had singles like “C.T.F.O” and “Love In Motion.” SebastiAn went on to work with other artists like Kavinsky on the album OutRun and Charlotte Gainsbourg on the album Rest. SebastiAn released Thirst in 2019, which had singles like “Thirst” and “Run For Me.” He has also done soundtracks for films like Steak and Notre Jour Viendra.
