Hear an established brass band ensemble with Salt River Brass tickets. The Salt River Brass, based in Tempe, Ariz., was created by the musicians in the band in 1988. Its first major concert was during the grand opening of the Chandler Center of the Arts. The band continues to perform there today.
During its formative years, there were multiple conductors, some from the ranks of the players in the group. In 1992, Ralph Pearce was named the Musical Director and Principal Conductor, lending stability and excellence to the group for the next ten years. Pearce utilized his background in conducting and composing to shape the ensemble into one of the elite brass bands in the United States.
