Ronnie Baker Brooks is an American blues singer-songwriter carrying on the tradition of his father Lonnie Brooks along with his guitarist brother Wayne Baker Brooks. Ronnie learned to play the guitar as a child and toured with his father's band playing bass before switching to lead. When his father fell ill before a concert at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival in 1992, he stepped in and became a headliner.
He continued to tour with his father and they performed with artists such as Eric Clapton, B.B. King, Buddy Guy and Koko Taylor. After his father urged him to pursue a solo career in 1998, he released his debut album 'Golddigger' followed by 'Take Me Witcha' (2001) and 'The Torch' (2006). His first studio album for ten years, 'Times Have Changed', went to number ten on Billboard's Blues Albums Chart in 2017.
Produced by Steve Jordan the album features 'Big Head' Todd Mohr, Bobby 'Blue' Bland, Steve Cropper, Angie Stone, Eddie Willis, Al Kapone, Felix Cavaliere and Lee Roy Parnell. Brooks performs regularly in clubs in Chicago and his 2018 dates were to include venues in Ontario, Canada, Ohio and Indiana plus the Grolsch Blues Festival in Schöppingen, Germany, and the Ribs and Blues Festival in Raalte, Netherlands.
