Sheridan graduated from Marquette. He first tried his hand at standup comedy in 1982 at Mostly Magic in the West Village. He then began to perform at the New York Improv that same year. Over the course of time, Sheridan began to appear on late-night talk shows such as the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson, Late Night with Conan O’Brien and the Late, Late, Late Show with Craig Ferguson as well as be featured on comedy shows on Showtime and Comedy Central.
