Also, known as The King or “O Rei”. While his first single and first LP were considered a commercial failure, he was able to remain on the air through CBS.
Then in the 1960s, he changed to be more romantic which lead him to become the most romantic Brazilian singer. He has won multiple international awards including the Latin Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2004. Robert Carlos celebrated his 50th anniversary with a performance at Maracana Stadium to a crowd of 70,000. His last American tour was in 2019 where he made five stops in Florida and Washington, D.C.
