The band was created by Steiner and Sagan while studying music at Notre Dame, and they released their debut album AOID in 2015. Though Nuccio and Neumann were later additions, all four members knew each other from childhood. The album proved that the band’s previous successes were more than just a happy accident, as Printer’s Devil earned universal praise for its wistful emotivism and poetic lyrics.
