Prokofievs Romeo and Juliet Tickets
Prokofiev's Romeo and Juliet Concert Tickets
Feel the intensity of the orchestra with Prokofiev's Romeo and Juliet tickets. Akiko Fujimoto conducts Sergei Prokofiev's take on one of the most tragic love stories in history - Romeo and Juliet. This program also includes Polina Nazaykinskaya's Winter Bells and George Gershwin's Piano Concerto in F.
Renowned for being one of his finest works, Prokofiev composed this ballet in 1935 and continued revising it for the next few years, only to be met with controversy with Soviet cultural officials because of its happy ending. When officials asked Prokofiev to revise his score, he refused. Despite this disobedience and evident objections from the composer himself, an "altered" version was performed at The Kirov Theatre in 1940, which won them one of their top state prizes-the State Stalin Award.
Listen to the incredible sounds of the symphony with Prokofiev's Romeo and Juliet tickets. The ballet is a masterpiece for its time, capturing the moods and emotions that are felt by both audiences and characters in theater. Prokofiev's scores capture what it means when Mozart shapes his characters for the opera or Shakespeare's emotional grandeur; he shapes these tools like no other before he does so with just orchestra music but also adding depth through tenor saxophone alongside the tambourine and drums which create tension as well tubular bells for conviction.
