The Progpower USA festival, which has been held in the United States since 2001, is dedicated to progressive, progressive rock and power metal music. The festival includes autograph sessions, band reunions, guest appearances and meet-and-greets.

More than 70 bands have debuted in the United States at Progpower USA festivals, including the German power band Gamma Ray, the Finnish symphonic metal band, Nightwish and the Finnish power metal band, Stratovarius. In addition, a special “oddball” slot is included in the schedule to highlight bands that do not fit into normal classifications.

Feast on progressive rock with Progpower USA tickets. The first festival was held at J.J. Kelly’s in Lansing, Ill., on February 23 and 24 and featured mostly USA groups, having only two bands from Sweden. Glenn Haveston, who conceived the idea while eating with some friends after attending the Powermad Festival in Baltimore, Md. created and produced the festival.

Over the years, the festival has become more diversified, intending to reach a larger fan base. The festival is an unofficial partner with Progpower Europe, which has contributed to the success of the festival. Progpower USA officials have announced that 2025 will be the final year of the festival.

There were only eleven bands featured in the inaugural event. At the 2021 festival, the event had twenty bands from the USA as well as Europe, Australia and Japan. Multinational groups are common and the event is now four days long.
