The four member Drums&Bass supergroup Planet of the Drums was formed in 2000 by Drums&Bass performers Dieselboy, DJ Dara and AK1200. The band was formed to elevate the Drums&Bass genre to being performed on the main stage at festivals where the artists would perform. They were joined later by DJ Messinian.
Each member of the band is an experienced and established performer in electronic music. Dieselboy was voted No. 23 in the 2014 America’s Best DJ Poll and won a Grammy for Best Remixed Recording in 2012. DJ’s Dara’s first album, Rinsimus Maximus, was released in 1997.
