In 1965, the dance school put on its first, full-length performance of The Nutcracker. By 1974, Marcia Dale School of Dance became a non-profit company and changed its name to Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet.
Since then, they have become the only school in the world to be licensed by the George Balanchine Trust to perform George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker. They were also named the Resident Ballet Company for The Whitaker Center for the Science and the Arts.
