Since then, he has split his time working as a sideman and also being a soloist. He has toured across the United States and throughout the world with artists such as Bobby Caldwell, Gino Vannelli and The Jeff Lorber Fusion. 

Lamb was born in Mississippi and is currently based out of Portland, Ore. Upon graduating high school, he received a scholarship to attend Mt. Hood Community College, where he was mentored by Dave Barduhn.  He gained name recognition by participating in jam sessions throughout Portland, which is how he came to the attention of Diane Schuur.

The song “Maceo!” from the 2013 album It’s All Right Now reached #2 on the Billboard charts. Lamb’s newest project is a collaboration with guitarist Michael Thompson.

He is among the youngest musicians ever to be inducted into the Oregon Music Hall of Fame. He also has received Portland’s Independent Spirit Award. He also has won three Muddy Awards as well as being a finalist in the Rockstar Mix It Up contest. Lamb’s production company was awarded both the Spirit of Portland and the Caring Heart Award for their charitable reaching out to the community.
