Amidst working on a succession of moderately successful EPs including two in 2017, Colours 2 and Seven Days, he featured on a number of high-profile hits including Major Lazer’s “Run Up”, Calvin Harris’s “Nuh Ready Nuh Ready” and Kanye West’s “Ghost Town”, while also collaborating with the likes of Jeremih, Lil Wayne and Zayn and co-writing DJ Khaled’s global success “Wild Thoughts”.
Letting anticipation build for his next LP, he found himself the subject of frequent internet memes, with fans growing increasingly impatient with the lengthy wait for new solo material. Their prayers were answered in December 2019, when he returned with a pair of singles and announced his third studio album, Partymobile. It arrived in March 2020, entering the US charts at #8 and spawning the hit Rihanna collaboration “Believe It”. Brathwaite concluded the year with the surprise drop Partypack, a new EP of previously unreleased material including the sought-after 2014 fan-favorite “Persian Rugs”.
