The band's first album, Losing Sleep, was released in 2009 and peaked at No. 40 in the US charts. The hit song from the album "Back Again" was featured in the popular video game Band Hero. In addition, the tracks "Under Control" and "She Is Love" were used for Nivea's skincare TV commercials. "She Is Love" would ultimately become platinum certified by the Recording Industry Association of America in 2017.
After the band's immediate success, Parachute released their second album, The Way It Was, in 2011. The album debuted at No. 19 on the Billboard 200 chart, No. 4 on the Digital Albums chart and No. 7 on the Rock Albums chart. In addition, their hit song from the album, "Kiss Me Slowly," became gold-certified in 2017.
Parachute tickets only rose in demand after performing on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno in 2013. That same year, Parachute debuted their third album, Overnight. The album peaked at No. 15 on the US Billboard 200 and No. 3 on iTunes album charts. Additionally, the band went on a nationwide headlining tour in support of their new album. The majority of Parachute's shows were performed in front of sell-out crowds.
In 2016, Parachute released their fourth album, Wide Awake. Following its release, the band began to tour throughout the US again for several years. Finally, in 2019, they released their self-titled album, Parachute.
