Formed by born-again Christians Marcos Curiel (guitar) and Wuv Bernado (drums) in San Diego in 1992, the band was part of the post-grunge, alternative music scene that saw Rage Against The Machine and Limp Bizkit start to mix hip hop, funk, punk and hard rock influences into a fierce, full-throttle sound that soon became known as nu-metal. 

From underground, independent heroes, P.O.D. (Payable On Death) signed with Atlantic Records and made their breakthrough with the anthemic single “Alive” and big-selling, US Number 6 album Satellite (2001) causing a high demand for P.O.D. tickets. Follow-ups Payable On Death (2003), Testify (2006) and When Angels & Serpents Dance (2008) all reached Number 9 in the US and the band became a hard rock institution, playing giant venues across the world and selling over 10 million records. The group continues to release great music with records Murdered Love (2012), SoCal Sessions (2014), The Awakening (2015) and Circles (2018).
