They rose to fame in the early 90s, going on to become one of the most successful groups in the history of Latin pop music. The members are Oscar Arizmendi, Erika Beltran, Mariana Ochoa, Lidia Avila and Ari Borovoy.
Ov7 first came together in 1989. Their self-titled debut album was an instant smash, topping the South American charts through its hit single “Que Triste Es El Primer Adios.” Their follow-up album Onda Vaselina 2 was one of the most successful albums of the decade in Mexico.
Ov7 cemented their place at the top of the scene in the late 90s and early 2000s with multiple number one hits like “Mas Que Amor,” “Jam” and “Shabadabada.” Despite a brief hiatus beginning in 2003, La Onda Vaselina reunited in 2010 to continue touring and recording. Though they had been apart for nearly seven whole years, the members were still able to produce successful albums, most notably Forever 7 and A Tu Lado in 2012 and 2013, respectively.
