The change was announced in January 2021 along with the team’s new home at the Future Legends Complex.
The Pioneer Baseball League is an independent MLB Partner League with eight teams. The Orem Owlz originally joined in 2005 playing out of Orem, Utah. The Owlz have 72 regular-season games beginning in May and running through mid-September.
The Orem Owlz played their final season in 2019 and posted a 30-46 record. The team won the 2005, 2007, 2009 and 2016 Pioneer League titles and then moved to Windsor, Colo., after the 2020 season. A few of their leaders during that stretch were designated hitter Roberto Lopez, who was the league’s 2008 MVP, and Jayson Miller, who was named Pitcher of the Year, that same season.
