A metalcore band that was formed in Texas in 2006, Oh Sleeper takes its name from a New Testament passage in Ephesians that says “Awake, O sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you." The founding members of Oh Sleeper were formerly part of the group Terminal, and they came together to make a whole new sound. Their debut album, When I Am God, came out in 2007 and was followed by Son of the Morning in 2009 and Children of Fire in 2011. In 2013, the band went on a hiatus, returning in 2019 to release their long-awaited fourth album, Bloodied/Unbowed.
Over the years, a half dozen members have come and gone, including founding member Lucas Starr who died of cancer in 2018. Oh Sleeper's recent lineup has featured numerous members including Shane Blay (lead guitar, clean vocals), Micah Kinard (lead vocals, programming) and Zac Mayfield (drums, percussion). Seth Webster on bass also accompanies them on tour where they put their heart and soul into making music that will stir up the fire inside of you.
