The Los Angeles punk band was originally formed in 2009 and was founded by a former band member of Circle Jerks, Keith Morris, and former band member of Burning Brides, Dimitri Coats. The two musicians combined several songs they had written for their previous bands and released them under Off!’s debut EP in 2010. The supergroup later released more EPs and merged a total of sixteen songs under a box set called the First Four EPs (2010), which was also their debut album.
The full-length album instantly caught critical attention and received widespread appraise. AllMusic gave the First Four EPs (2010) a 4.5 out of 5-star review and Pitchfork Media rated it an 8.5 out of 10. Their self-titled sophomore album was released in 2012 and followed a similar trend of success, receiving a 77 out of 100 from Metacritic. Perhaps their most popular album is Wasted Years (2014), which peaked as No. 67 on the Billboard 200.
