In 2024, Oedipus premiered in English at Wyndham’s Theatre in London, featuring Olivier-winning actor Mark Strong in the title role and Lesley Manville (who portrayed Princess Catherine in The Crown) as Jocasta. Ickes has re-written other Greek narratives, penning Oretesia and winning a 2016 Olivier Award for Best Director.
