Lam led the Tar Heels to multiple ACC Tournament titles in his tenure, being named Coach of the Year in the ACC ten times. C.D. Mock, who wrestled under Coach Lam and became an NCAA National Champion in 1982 took over for his coach upon his retirement in 2002.
