Raleigh's premier choral ensemble is well-known for its performances of classical music with orchestra. In their 1996-97 debut season they performed works from different styles including Renaissance to contemporary pieces.

In recent seasons, the Chorale has performed masterworks such as Ray's Gospel Mass and Rachmaninoff’s Vespers. In addition to these works, the Symphonic Choir has also performed Britten's War Requiem along with Prokofiev's Alexander Nevsky among others. In turn, each performance offers something different, creating interest within audiences who always enjoy hearing new combinations of some of their favorites like Orff's Carmina Burana and Handel's Messiah in collaboration with the Carolina Ballet.
