The New Jersey high school state wrestling championships are overseen and regulated by the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association. The NJSIAA is an organization of the New Jersey high schools.
The NJSIAA was established in 1918 as a voluntary nonprofit and has over 430 member schools participating. For most schools, member schools are broken down into the North I, North II, Central and South regions with five groups within those regions. Schools are grouped according to their enrollment, with Group V having the highest enrollment and Group I having the least. For non-public schools, there are four regions, North A, North B, South A and South B. For non-public schools, there is no Groups.
